Central Platte NRD Board Meeting February 28
(GRAND ISLAND, NE) – The Central Platte Natural Resources District’s board of directors will hold their monthly board meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 215 Kaufman Avenue in Grand Island, NE. Action items and updates on the agenda:
-Water Transfer The Variance/Appeals Subcommittee will discuss a possible water transfer from the Lower Loup NRD to the Central Platte NRD in Custer County.
-Crane Viewing Deck The Programs Committee will discuss grant funding and possible improvements to the NRD’s crane viewing decks.
-Mission Statement The Programs Committee will review a draft mission statement for the NRD.
-Integrated Management Plans Lyndon Vogt, general manager, will report on the Basin-Wide and CPNRD Integrated Management Plan timelines.
-Cost-Share Applications through the Nebraska Soil and Water Conservation and the Central Platte NRD cost-share programs will be considered.
-Legislative Report Report on bills relating to natural resources.
-Natural Resources Conservation Service Joe Krolikowski, district liaison, will report to the board.
-Nebraska Association of Resources District Jim Bendfeldt will report.
-Nebraska Natural Resources Commission Mick Reynolds, Middle Platte Basin representative, will report.
-Executive Session The board will hold an executive session to discuss legal matters.
